Welcome
VT Student Outreach Volunteers can work with many different programs as part of their professional development. Some help support local teachers in collecting real-world information and sharing information locally: in this photo, a student is collecting water quality data on Stroubles Creek, using GLOBE protocols. |

Announcements
Outreach Volunteer Opportunities coming up--please contact Llyn@vt.edu if you are interested in helping with these:
May 31, 2008 Save Our Streams Habitat Assessment Training
June 2008 Education Resource Center Earth Science teaching kits and Museum work day
June 2008 4-H Congress Geosciences Activities
Montgomery County Public Schools and VT Science Outreach are working together to develop service learning around the science of watersheds. We have the fascinating opportunity of having the Eastern Continental Divide in our area: with the New River drainage to the Gulf of Mexico, the Roanoke River drainage to the Albemarle Sound (Atlantic) of North Carolina, and a small tributary of James River drainage to the Chesapeake Bay. The project website is http://montcowatersheds.org/.
Teachers: please contact Llyn@vt.edu if you are interested in participating.
The next workshop is scheduled for April 11, 2008.
