Blacksburg's Watershed Open House was held on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006. Watershed walks, kids games, information about Blacksburg's watersheds, World Water Monitoring Day hands-on water quality testing, maps, and other activities for families, teachers, and citizens took place from 9:00-noon at the YMCA parking lot, 1000 North Main Street.

A "Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience" middle-school teacher workshop was held in conjunction with the event above, sponsored by Geosciences Outreach and Montgomery County Public Schools.
